I just did not feel right. . .

I heard a parent,

Telling his son:

“Don’t cry like girls.”

And I just did not feel right.

I heard that,

The boys were told that

They are the sole breadwinner of the family.

And I just did not feel right.

I was told that

there is grand celebration of Lohri,

only for a son’s birth.

And I just did not feel right.

I saw a parent,

exempting  her son’s behaviour

with just a ‘Boys will be boys’.

And I just did not feel right.

I was told that:

a sister ties rakhi on her brother’s wrist,

and not even the brother on the sister’s wrist…

‘cause only he protects her.

And I just did not feel right.

I heard someone,

Telling a lady:

To cover her head,

As people are not good.

And I just did not feel right.

I was told that,

I should not talk about my periods.

And I just did not feel right.

I was told that it is,

Only the Prince,

Who saves the Princess.

And I just did not feel right.

And it was not right. . .

  3. Dude, it hit hard here ♡ . "And it was not right..." , a simple line yet having a mysterious unimaginable power, this is what I really felt after reading it.

I was waiting for this. In the past few days, I read some articles which disturbed me quite a bit. Sometimes, I think why can't everyone just think properly, I mean... why can't everyone be positive...why can't everyone just keep good thoughts in their minds?! Yes, this world is full of filthy people with filthy minds but we have to be courageous to fight and finish, not such people but their thoughts, their soch.

We need to come out of that 'victim' sort of feeling. Every being on this Earth should realize that. I just have one last thing to say, "Dear ladies, study hard and shut the mouths of all those negative elements which stopped you. (by becoming something great)." - Sargun Saini

[Kamala Harris, my greatest inspiration, who did the thing I wrote above]

  4. Indeed, these topics are quite a usual in our quotidian life ! Same do I feel, why is this women fraternity always shown a sort of inferiority?? Why is this society so rude?
Anyways, this was really beautifully expressed. A topic to be thought of and taken into account is so well expressed! Keep penning!!! 👏🏻👏🏻✨♥️

  9. Very evocative thoughts and expressions, something we all accept so casually, even though it doesn't feel right.
