TITLE: DO WE NEED ONE?

HEY EVERYONE,

So, I am back with a new blog and at the end of this blog, I will ask you all a question and you can answer in the comments. There are some moments in which we may, perhaps unintentionally, promote gender inequality. So, here they are:

  •  The first day of school, if your son cries, what will you say to him? "Don't cry like girls", this may seem a small thing to you but has a great impact on that boy's mind. It's high time now.We must teach our sons that "Boys don't make someone cry" instead "Boys don't cry".
  • I know this may sound absurd but I am quite against Fairy Tales where girls are always shown as a 'Damsel in Distress' and hence setting a wrong example to all the little girls reading them. We need to tell our coming generations better versions of these Fairy Tales.
  • Whenever we exempt boys' wrongdoings with just a "Boys will be boys."

  • When we have a grand celebration of Lohri only for a son's birth and not of a daughter.
  • When we have a problem when our son likes painting as painting is so called 'Girlish'.
  • Cricket is only for boys and dolls are only for girls. Is it ? I don't think so.

  • Girls out at night: We will ask every single thing... why?what?how? and... Boys out at night: We hardly notice. All parents must ensure that their son is not one of the reasons that a girl is not allowed at night.
  • Are girls gold diggers? We would notice the girls who cheat for money but we never notice the girls who are richer than their husband or brother.
  • At times, I don't understand what is this society? Where we have so many rules and restrictions for Females.
  • When we call a Feminist, a Male Hater. So, in other words according to society favouring one means hating the other? So that means Males and Females are enemies? because we know they are not...
  • Girls ought to prove their worth, like seriously? Girls have standards according to which they never prove their worth, ones who understand are lucky and ones who don't ..... well... all the best to them.
Now, the question: Do you think that Gender Inequality is the same thing as Female Inferiority? Do tell me in the comments with just a 'Yes' or 'No',there would be no need to explain.

                                                            THANKS FOR READING

  1. See I don't think it's there because now a days people are more educated and they never feel that a woman is inferior than a man but yes a state of mind of some people are still the same and we can't deny from that .

    Still

if a lady elected as a prime minister or president , people do wonder see a being a woman she is doing this...I don't understand y "BEING A WOMAN" term is used..

    Still
Women athletes are lack of funding.... No matter how capable they are.. better than male athletes but still.....

  2. Yes because in this male dominated society this is true. We need to be very strong. We have to make them realize our worth

  3. Daughters are blessings, far better than the boys
I’m so lucky to have one like you Anahit, who,at such a tender age ,has deep clarity of thoughts I’m so proud that you do n you believe what you write
Daughters need not prove their worth, rather it’s the world who has to raise the standards to their level to understand them
Keep writing such wonderful thoughts as world need reminders,Ramandeep Sandhu

    1. You are absolutely true. After reading her blogs, I always feel that she thinks so deeply and correctly about every sensitive issue. I am writing all this genuinely. I have never come across such good and deeply expressed thoughts till now but this one was really the best. So lucid!

  4. No
I don't think gender inequality is same as female inferiority.
I found the examples given by you very intriguing and captivating...and it's the harsh truth.
Gender inequality comes with racism as well (when black males are thought to be inferior) but female inferiority is just a word used to make women feel that they are being sympathized with and all that. I don't even believe in this word!

I do all the things I like without judging it to be a boyish or girlish thing. Yes, I am learning to drive a motorcycle and bullet is my favorite. Yes, I love playing cricket and football and I love winning and cherishing my medals in these games. Yes, I get a rakhi tied on my wrist too because if my brother has to protect me then it is my responsibility also to protect him from all the evils. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction! Yes, my dream car is an open jeep and Lamborghini.

I think you missed that 'traditional' point as well : "Engineering is only for boys." Hahaha ! What a joke!

I think I revealed so many secrets today but they are worth mentioning in this wonderful blog!

    1. I really did miss this Engineering point. Even in the engineering colleges there is a drastic difference between the girl and boy ratio

  6. Thanks for the wonderful post but my opinion regarding this is 'No'. Women inferiority and gender inequality is entirely different as now a days worldwide people are not considering two genders. As you that LGBT community has come and everywhere it stands in front of the gender. Moreover these are legalised now. So in terms of that it is not the same.

  7. Such a wonderful thinking. Girls equal to boys even stronger thinking and more responsible. We are so lucky to have girls like you. You are doing great work. Go Anahit go.

  8. Inequality results from lack of opportunities, lack of education for girls. If we fix that, inequality (thinking) will go away. And I believe we are moving in the right direction. look at you!!

So proud of you, keep writing, keep learning and keep thinking!
